About this role and company:
ALANA Collegiate Association (ACA) ALANA is an abbreviated term for Asian, Latin, African, and Native American. This organization served RIT students and administration by advocating, supporting, and encouraging them through all facets of collegiate life.
My role as Publicity Director was to support the Marketing initiatives of the organization including daily social media posts as well as coordinating the annual I Am ALANA campaign. Working with the Designer and President, social media strategy was determined based on the needs of the organization as well as current events happening on-campus and in the world.
I Am ALANA
"I AM ALANA" is an annual campaign organized by ALANA Collegiate Association (ACA).
The goal of this campaign was to demonstrate the visibility of ALANA identifying students and demonstrate their excellence with a print campus-wide campaign
Key factors in organizing this campaign:
Organizing the logistics of an open-call photoshoot including
Promoting the search for models through social media and in-person marketing
Developing a system to capture interest in modelling for this campaign with a virtual sign-up form
Hiring, scheduling, and processing the payment of a student photographer
Reserving a space and time to conduct the photoshoot using campus-owned facilities
Developing a unique art style to appropriately capture the goal of the campaign (You can view the end product of this campaign on the designer’s site)
Coordinating with the designer and print shop to ensure the graphics were suitable for print and delivered on time
Planning a week-long event to celebrate ALANA Week, culminating with the release of the print campaign
